![]() A human who maybe doesn't know vital spots on an animal they could attack or knows how animal behaviour works (appearing large to intimidate some, not other ones in the eye) would likely get killed by the animal otherwise. In this video, we go over the age old question of who would win between a Silverback Gorilla and a Grizzly Bear. With the advantage in speed, weight, brute strength and predatory aggression, the grizzly would be able to inflict severe and fatal damage to the gorilla. ![]() There's stories of people when being attacked by sharks who once they know they've been bit will try and jam their hands into the sharks gills or give it the hardest punch they possibly can to it's hyper sensitive nose full of neurons to disorientate it, things most animals wouldn't know to do or be able to do against a shark in a similar scenario. In the end, the fight would most likely go to the grizzly bear. Humans could at least know vital spots on an animal they could potentially and realistically go for if they didn't have weapons on hand to make things easier. Chuke discusses the fight of a gorilla vs a bear and the pros and cons of each animal.and then comes to his conclusion. Most predatory animals only kill better than us because they either have the strength/claws/fangs designed for it or the prey they hunt is something they instinctively know how to kill by attacking them a certain way, put a predator against an unknown animal from another environment and it might not do so well because it would need a different technique. Grizzly bears are taller than silverback gorilla and more aggressive in comparison, matching a gorilla in strength and size with a plus point on claws won’t be a problem. The grizzly is anywhere from 300 to 1100 lbs while the silverback is between 400 to 700 lbs. That guy either got very lucky biting the artery or he had prior knowledge of where it was and decided to get that first. A Silverback gorilla’s arms are longer in comparison to a bear that gives him an advantage in reach on a grizzly bear, but that’s about it. Their long arms give them the reach advantage on a grizzly, but that’s about it. The average silverback weighs around 350 pounds and stands at 5-and-a-half feet tall. ![]() I think a mix of adrenaline plus our superior intellect to animals means we can pull off some insane feats when fight or flight kicks in. A grizzly beats a silverback 10 times out of 10. ![]()
